Ilsan Hospital is the only hospital in Korea operated by the National Health Insurance Service.
In order to fulfill its role of improving national health, and as a model hospital of national health insurance based on high-quality medical care and kind services, the hospital was opened on March 3, 2000 with 5 basement floors and 13 stories with 745 beds.
Background and purpose of establishment

Furthermore, due to the need for a hospital operated by the insurer that would develop and apply new medical services and operating systems for the sake of public interest, and in order to provide high-quality medical services in the northwestern part of Gyeonggi-do, which was deficient in terms of medical services, Ilsan Hospital was opened on March 3, 2000 in Ilsan, Goyang, Gyeonggi-do with 5 floors underground and 13 floors aboveground with 745 beds, boasting of advanced medical equipment and facilities
