Seoul National University HospitalFor the past 130 years, Seoul National University Hospital has been the central national hospital
representing South Korea. Its history began in 1885 in Jejungwon, the first Korean national hospital
of the Western type, which later opened the medical college of Seoul National University. In 1978, the hospital was reorganized into a special corporation, which is designed to raise medical services to the world level.
Currently, Seoul National University Hospital consists of the main, Children's and Cancer Hospital
and also the Institute of Biomedical Research. The hospital has 1,751 beds and employs 8,000 employees, including 1,800 doctors who receive about 9,000 outpatient patients a day. Seoul National University Hospital makes every effort to protect human health.
