They arise, as a rule, with age. They are often found in men younger than 60 years. Risk factors include eating fatty foods, lack of physical activity, and being overweight. Coronary heart disease can lead to the development of angina pectoris and myocardial infarction.

Diagnostics
For the diagnosis of coronary heart disease, ECG, myocardial scintigraphy, ultrasound of the heart, treadmill test, CT of the heart are used. If insufficient blood flow is detected in the coronary arteries, a coronary angiography is prescribed.
